As a Visual Reporter at The Providence Journal, I created an award-winning “visuals beat” of state government, documenting action and events in the state legislature and the governor’s office for 17 years. My daily involvement in public hearings, bill introductions and debate, led to a genuine interest in and knowledge of public policy and legislative issues. My behind-the-scenes images of state government appeared in print and on The Journal website as a legislative "Week in Review" slideshow.

As a Feature Columnist, also at The Journal, I initiated concepts and developed proposals, prototypes and the execution of three different columns: A Wedding, Love Stories, and Working. These columns have drawn a tremendous following, eliciting much enthusiasm from readers, and were applauded by the newspaper’s publisher and managing editor.

As a Photo Editor, I have regularly worked with reporters, editors and photographers in coordinating and assigning photo coverage, participating in daily news meetings to determine story and photo placement in the newspaper, and collaborating with photographers in generating enterprise photo and video ideas and editing daily and long-term visual projects.

I have also lived and photographed in Europe, creating images of daily life in Germany and Poland. I currently live in Providence, Rhode Island, the base for my freelance photography business that takes me  throughout the Northeast.
